Christmas and its markets

The most famous time in Alsace is Christmas time. The streets are adorned with 1000 lights and Christmas markets animate the heart of the villages. We advise you to visit the market of Colmar, less than 20 minutes of the lodges and accessible by train. The market of Strasbourg and its big Christmas tree on the Place Kléber has to be seen. A recommendations though: Avoid the week endif you want to fully your visits without the crowd.

Easter and egg hunts

In Alsace, Easter is also an occasion for celebrations. The tradition is for the children to build nests in the gardens to welcome the Easter hare, and especially its chocolate eggs! It is a very good opportunity to visit the Eco-museum of Alsace with the children as a large egg hunt is organized within the parc.

Spring and summer, party time

Au printemps, la région se réveille de la torpeur de l’hiver avec le premier gros événement de l’année: la foire éco-bio de Colmar. Cette foire internationale se passe le week-end de l’ascension. Vous pourrez y découvrir les meilleurs producteurs bio des quatre coins de l’Europe.

Puis l’été arrive, et c’est toute la région qui célèbre la ronde des fêtes. Au menu: la fête de la sorcière à Rouffach, la fête des ménétriers à Ribeauvillé, la fête de la grenouille, la fête de l’âne, de l’escargot, de la bière, les feus de la Saint-Jean, la foire aux vins, les fêtes des caves,… impossible de vous ennuyer!

In the spring, the region wakes up from the torpor of the winter with the first big event of the year: the Organic fair of Colmar. This international fair takes place on the Ascension weekend. You will discover the best organic producers from all over Europe.

Then summer comes, and the whole region celebrates the holiday season. On the menu: the feast of the witch in Rouffach, the feast of the minstrels in Ribeauvillé, the feast of the frog, the feast of the donkey, the snail, the beer, the fires of Saint-Jean, the wines fair in Colmar, the wine cellars festivals in the villages, … impossible to get bored!
